ABOUT

Caresse Boyers Burkhart (DipABRSM Harp Performance 2008, Harp Teaching 2008, Piano Performance 2009, LRSM Harp Teaching 2009, LRSM Harp Performance 2013) lives in Northwest Ohio, where she has built a career as a harpist, pianist, accompanist, and teacher.   She studied harp with Carol McClure, artistic director of the Harp School Inc. and has studied in master class with Skiala Kanga, Elinor Bennett, and Jana Bouskova.  She studied piano with Dr. Vicki King, author of Playing the Piano Naturally, and voice with Eden Castel of Hillsdale College.  Since 2008, she has been the choir accompanist and vocal coach at Evergreen High School Choir. She was the music librarian for the Toledo Choral Society for ten years.  She freelances throughout Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana and has appeared in concert with the Lenewee Community Chorus, the Toledo Choral Society, the Seinna Heights Youth Orchestra (2005-2008), and organist Lynne Long.  Some of her favorite performances include: Once Upon a Mattress with Evergreen High School, the Rutter Requiem with the Hillsdale Community Chorus, Ceremony of Carols with the Defiance College Singers, The Fantasticks with the Village Players of Toledo, and South Pacific with Bronson High School.  Last fall, she was the Grand Hotel's harpist at Mackinac Island in Michigan. In her free time she loves to make lattes, bird watch, hike on beautiful trails, and get lost in a good book.
